Colour blocking is everywhere this spring as Melbournians pulls off their collective black coats and scarves. The long winter is nearly over and to celebrate bright colours are everywhere in fashion and cosmetics.

The trend is creating a look by putting two or more blocks of solid colour next to each other. It can include bright, muted, contrasting or complementary colours.

M.A.C Cosmetics have released ‘Colourizations’ Double Feature Shadow Compacts to add a little drama to your make-up. The surprising colour combinations are sophisticated but fun enough to take you into the warmer months.

This trend is all about experimentation. Burnt orange and navy blended eye shadow might sound crazy but can look brilliant. A word of warning to the eager, however – start with two colours. There’s a fine line between fun and eye-catching and looking like you’ve just come from a drag show.

The eye shadow compacts come in eight different colour combinations ranging from purple and yellow-gold to lime and grey. With complementary eyeliners, M.A.C have this season’s trend all sewn up.

With a splash of bright colour in your make-up bag, you’re free to enjoy those little black dresses in your wardrobe while staying on trend!
