Body Canvas 2011 - A Glamorous Event for Charity
Published: 08/18/2011 by Caitlin Guilfoyle
Sunday August 14saw Noise Bar in Brunswick be engulfed by ten near-nude gorgeous models that were painted into their surrounds by world-class graffiti artists.
Sounds like the perfect beverage accompaniment, right? The best part is, it’s all for charity.
The Sunday launch was merely a ‘tease’ for larger-than-life fundraising coup Body Canvas, an event to be held at the prestigious Atrium at Flemington Racecourse in Melbourne on September 24.
Hosted by Australian singer and actress Tottie Goldsmith and TV personality Aaron McCarthy, Body Canvas works in conjunction with the National Breast Cancer Foundation to celebrate life, passion and glamour.
Those lucky enough to attend will enjoy a delicious three-course banquet by Peter Rowland Catering, along with unlimited beer and wine.
The entertainment, though, is sure to be the highlight.
50 models and celebrities will grace the catwalk, each painted by 50 different graffiti artists. Each design will be judged and a winner chosen; categories include brush/sponge, special effects, graffiti, fashion art, air-brush and celebrity.
“Body Canvas is about dreaming big, inspiring others to achieve greatness, bringing people together and sharing in something that is truly amazing,” said Clinton Kopittke, founder of Body Canvas.
All proceeds from ticket sales will go to benefit breast cancer research.
